Joined the Australian Flying Arts School, Julia Creek Branch IN 1976 and attended workshops over the next nine years being tutored by Mervyn Moriarty, Roy Churcher, Pat Hoffey, and Bev Budgen to name a few. In those days I painted in Oils and did lots of charcoal sketches and life drawings.
Situated in the beautiful Far South West region of Queensland where inspiration is never far away, the Quilpie Cultural Society Inc. was founded in 1972. We have now since grown into a popular group where community members and travellers to the area can access professional tutors in a workshop environment for a heavily reduced rate to nurture skills, and allow the best chance for emerging artists to develop their talents.
In this small community, assistance is never far away for the many types of workshops and training days which are held. There is a large local talent pool from which tutors are accessed across many disciplines including patchwork, metal work, jewellery, painting, mosaics and furniture construction/repair.
